HOBBIES is a word that has such a pleasurable and contented ring
about it - hobbies, something that you enjoy doing and adds to
the quality of your life. Perhaps like me, you envisaged
retirement as a time to at last indulge yourself with all the
hobbies and interests which had to be pushed into the background
during the hectic years of working and looking after the family,
only to discover that retirement is just as hectic and that it
is still a job to fit in hobbies.
I was surprised to read ...

With gemstone beads, every bead is precious. Every bead is
beautiful. A little more effort is needed when stringing a
gemstone necklace together.
First, decide on the design. Take a fishing line and string the
gemstone beads through it. Hold the string of beads around your
neck in front of the mirror to see how the necklace would look.
When you are pleased with your design, then start stringing the
beads together properly.
For that, you need colored thread that matches the beads and
some ...

Ask a room full of people what hobby they have and you will get
as many answers as there are people. Others will confess that
they don't have a hobby. They probably do; but just don't label
it as such. By definition, a hobby is an activity or interest
pursued outside one's regular occupation and engaged in
primarily for pleasure.
Whether stamp collecting, chat rooms, trains, soft ball,
scrapbooking, golf, reading, painting, tap dancing, yard work,
crafts, auto mechanics, music, hunting down ...

Why is it, that when you are looking to buy a boat, you can
never find one that suits your needs? This is what happens to
many people every year and in particular to ourselves. It's just
like buying a house. When you are selling, it is a buyer's
market and when you are buying it is a seller's market! This
year my husband and I decided that it was time to buy our first
boat.
Now we have been boating with our friends on their Bayliner for
many years. They pay for the boat expenses and we bring ...

Inshore fishing in Guatemala for Roosterfish and other species is often overlooked in favour of the famous bluewater fishing for pacific sailfish and blue marlin. The waters offshore are almost always calm and tranquil during the billfishing season of October through May, but as the rainy season comes in, the weather offshore can become unpredictable, and so is an ideal time instead to consider some of the great fishing to be found within a couple of miles of shore.Within six miles of the Pez ...

Why are GPS units showing up everywhere? You might find one in
your rental car, on your wristwatch or even built into your
wireless phone. Anti-theft systems use one, heavy construction
equipment might use one and having one on your boat now seems to
be a requirement. Anytime we want to know our exact location on
the face of the Earth, the GPS becomes indispensable. Like many
other technologies, feature rich GPS units are now affordable
for the average person. So how do you know which one ...

This is a review of the G. Loomis Nativerun GLX Fly Rod. An angler's fly rod defines them in many ways. A rod can tell us how
frugal someone is and it can say a little bit about how seriously they
take the sport of fly fishing. To me, a fly rod must perform at a high
level to be included in my arsenal and I really do not care how much I
have to spend. Because I make my living on the water as a guide, it is
important that I own the finest tools available for those rare days
when I get to ...

If you have been fly fishing for long I am sure that you have picked up on the following two points: 1. Sometimes the biggest fish can be caught using the smallest flies. 2.
Sometimes to hook a lot of fish you have to fish extremely fine tippet,
especially in clear water or in areas that receive high fishing
pressure. Both of these present problems for fly
fishermen. If you're fishing very small flies, the fish have the
tendency to slip the hook very frequently. Also, if ...
